Alba sul Mare is located above Amalfi. It is quieter than the town centre, while still having a bus stop and a small grocery shop nearby.

The apartment is reached from the upper entrance via approximately 47 steps.

The apartment is set on the hillside above the town centre. From the road, approximately 47 steps lead down to the apartment. By Amalfi standards, that is relatively few. You should nevertheless be comfortable using stairs.

Getting to the apartment

By private transfer

A private transfer is the easiest way to reach the apartment. It is particularly convenient from Naples Airport or the railway stations in Naples and Salerno.

The driver can take you directly to the upper entrance. From there, 47 steps lead down to the apartment.

By public transport

Getting to Amalfi

During the season, you can travel to Amalfi conveniently by ferry from Naples or Salerno.

There is also a direct shuttle bus from Naples Airport to Amalfi. From Napoli Centrale railway station, the easiest option is to take the train to Salerno and continue from there by ferry or bus.

From Amalfi to the apartment

From the centre of Amalfi, take the bus towards Pogerola and get off at La Florida. From there, it is only a few minutes’ walk to the upper entrance of the apartment.

Bus tickets must be purchased before boarding.

Getting around without a car

You do not need a car during your stay. The main distances are:

  • La Florida bus stop: around 5 minutes on foot
  • Market La Florida: around 5 minutes on foot
  • Centre of Amalfi: around 15 minutes by bus
  • Centre of Amalfi: around 20 to 25 minutes on foot downhill

The small Market La Florida is around five minutes’ walk from the apartment. It sells groceries and everyday essentials, making it easy to manage without a car.

The walk back from the centre is uphill and considerably more demanding. I recommend taking the bus.

Arriving by car

Alba sul Mare does not have a private parking space. Public parking in Amalfi is limited and expensive. If you plan to arrive by car, you should arrange parking before your trip.

A car is normally not necessary for a stay at Alba sul Mare.

Is the location right for you?

The location is a good choice if peace, views and outdoor space matter more to you than staying in the middle of the town centre.

If you cannot manage stairs or want to be directly in the centre at all times, Alba sul Mare is not the right accommodation for you.
